I’ve been researching the web for this topic for a couple of hours and came to a conclusion that savvy programmers prefer CentOS for running their MySql and other databases. Here’s an interesting poll. Yes, it’s dated but still, all the fresh info I found on this topic tend to stick with the same choice.
With that said, latest news from RedHat (CentOS distribution company) aren’t exactly encouraging. They said the CentOS original project will be abandoned in 2021 (wheach means no more support and maintanace from there on) and the focus allocated to CentOS Stream – the project which is still a little bit obscure and vague.
